Greene County Animal Control temporarily closes shelter due to parvo
A preliminary report says unvaccinated animals are the likely cause of parvo being discovered at the Greene County Animal Control shelter.
The agency has announced the closure of their facility after the sickness was discovered and to allow workers enough time to disinfect and clean all areas in the shelter to protect the dogs currently held and to stop the spread of parvo to protect future animals that come into those areas.
The Greeneville shelter is tentatively scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 5.
