Johnson City City Manager Pete Peterson plans retirement
Johnson City City Manager Pete Peterson is preparing to retire after more than 30 years of service.
Peterson announced his intentions during the city commission meeting on Thursday evening, but plans to stay as city manager through the remainder of 2021. Peterson started with Johnson City in 1991 as a development specialist, later working his way to the current role he serves in beginning in 2005.
The commission expects the length of search for a new city manager to take around six to eights months.
