TBI: Johnson City siblings indicted on murder charges in connection to death of mother
Two Johnson City siblings have been indicted by a grand jury in connection to the death of their mother.
Michael and Karen Murray were both indicted on charges of first degree murder by a Washington County, TN grand jury on Thursday. This comes following the launch of an investigation in August of 2019 by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into allegations of abuse and neglect involving Sheila June Murray after she was hospitalized and later died. State authorities allege Michael and Karen were responsible for the abuse and neglect.
Both were arrested Thursday and booked into the Washington County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
