UPDATE: Virginia enters Phase of vaccination plan, appointments for all available
Southwest Virginia enters phase 2 of the state’s COVID vaccination plan giving those age 16 and older the opportunity to receive the serum.
Health Director Dr. Karen Shelton said parents should be aware that the Pfizer dose is the only vaccine approved for 16- and 17-year-old while Johnson & Johnson and Moderna can be administered to those 18 and older.
Residents can begin scheduling appointments with their respective health districts in the region, including Mount Rogers, Lenowisco, and Cumberland Plateau.
