Search Continues For Missing Buchanan County Man

As of Tuesday, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the disappearance of a 76 year old county resident who went missing last week. The Sheriff’s Department initially responded to the search for William Bill Cole in the Chicken Ridge area of Buchanan County. An initial search of the home and immediate area was completed and Virginia State Police were then contacted to assist in the search for Cole. Several searches have taken place in the area and based on information gathered during the investigation the location is a known area where Mr. Cole would walk trails. Foul play is not suspected at this time and additional searches are planned in the area focusing on the intersection of State Route636 and 616.
