Chattanooga coach fired for calling Georgia voter advocate ‘Fat Albert’ in online rant files federal lawsuit
A former University of Tennessee Chattanooga assistant football coach has filed a federal lawsuit against the school who fired him for making disparaging remarks about Georgia voter advocate Stacey Abrams online.
An attorney for Chris Malone says the coach’s First Amendment rights were violated when Chattanooga terminated him after he called Abrams ‘Fat Albert’ and levied other insults in a January social media rant about presidential election results.
Malone wants his job back along with back pay and damages.
