UVA Wise announces creation of Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise Chancellor Donna Henry says extra efforts toward recognition and make room for all has strengthened the campus while announcing the formation of the school’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
College leaders said in a report that the office will promote a school that welcomes diversity while respecting and implementing programs that will ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on campus.
New Associate Vice Chancellor Tabitha Smith will be director of the new office that also has plans to incorporate the surrounding communities in their work on diversity.
