VA Governor Northam announces $21 million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing Loans
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced more than 21 million dollars in Affordable and Special Needs Housing Loans for several projects across Virginia. These loans will create over one thousand affordable housing units for low-income households across the state. According to Northam, the funding will reduce homelessness and provide permanent housing options for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Town of Wytheville is one of many that is receiving funding. The $84,000 dollar project is titled “Fairview Town Homes Energy Efficiency Project” and it will create twelve two-bedroom units– with four units dedicated to permanent supportive housing.
