Child care officials find 36 children at unlicensed daycare center in Morristown
The Tennessee Department of Human Services has confirmed an investigation is underway in Morristown after a tip led state officials to an unlicensed daycare center.
Child service workers and Hamblen County police first inspected the two-story home on Jaybird Street and found 36 children on July 7th.
Current statutes in Tennessee only allow 4 unrelated children to be supervised at one time. DHS said the daycare operation had no prior complaints prior to the July 1st notice.
