Congressman Griffith Says Democrats Want To Federally Fund Abortions, Republicans Fighting For Hyde Amendment
Virginia’s Ninth District United States Congressman Morgan Griffith says if President Biden and Democrats in Congress are successful in removing a 1973 abortion amendment, taxpayers would in effect be forced to fund abortions, even if it goes entirely against their religious convictions. Abortion was legalized in 1973, but the Hyde Amendment restricts public funding of abortions which most Republicans support along with 60 percent of Americans agreeing that taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund abortions. Griffith is supporting H.R. 18 a bill that would ensure the Hyde Amendment is indefinitely protected.
