Kingsport’s Axmen, Player Arrested After Making Threatening Remarks On Social Media.
Kingsport Police arrest a player for the Kingsport Axmen Baseball team of the Appalachian League after the player was dismissed from the team and then made threatening comments on a social media app. Matthew T. Taylor, was dismissed from the team earlier in the day and Kingsport Police were called in to stand by as Taylor gathered his belongings from Hunter Wright Stadium. But later that day, the threats Taylor made began showing up on social media. Officers located Taylor in Sullivan County and placed him under arrest. He is charged with False Reporting, and Harassment and was transported to the Kingsport Justice Center where he was eventually released after posting a 25 thousand dollar bond. Taylor played his high school ball at Dobyns-Bennett in Kingsport. The games scheduled for Monday and Tuesday were canceled due to an abundance of caution.
