ETSU Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music Studies announce two new artist residencies
East Tennessee State University announced two new music artist residencies in the Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country music major. Brittany Haas and Mike Compton will work alongside students and faculty during the next school year. Haas is a professional fiddle player who performed on Saturday Night Live and Late Night with David Letterman; and Compton is a mandolin player who worked with names such as Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton. Haas says she looks forward to helping the students along in their musical journeys, playing music with them, and asking questions about what it means to be a musician.
