Air Quality Alert issued by National Weather Service due to smoke and haze from Canadian wildfires
Portions of the state including Northeast Tennessee are under an air quality alert due to remnants of wildfires breezing into the US from western Canada.
The National Weather Service in Morristown is advising adults and children with breathing difficulties to use precaution if outdoors and during work or play due to smoke and haze impacting ozone levels.
The city of Bristol, Washington, and Scott counties are also included in the advisory.
Canadian weather authorities have reported more than 100 fires are currently blazing in the Manitoba and Ontario provinces.
