Virginia Lottery officials adopt license regulations for casinos

A timeline issued to the Virginia Lottery Board says operating licenses for five voter-endorsed casino projects including a Hard Rock International resort off of Interstate 81 in Bristol, Virginia will be issued in May 2022.

Preliminary casino regulations have been approved which will now be reviewed by the Executive Branch of the commonwealth—a chore that should be completed by November.

That will be followed by a 60-day comment period on the casino laws and permanent adoption in January and a final publication in April.
