UPDATE: Shooting suspect in Greeneville in custody

A suspect who fired his gun at Greeneville police officers early Thursday afternoon was taken into custody just before 6 p.m.

Joseph Hale had been on the run for several hours following an incident in the vicinity of Baileyton Road, Bohannon Avenue, and Main Street in North Greeneville.

K9 units were deployed and the TBI lent assistance to help in the search for Hale who reportedly shot his weapon as he ran from policemen who had pulled him over following reports of a disturbance in the city.
