Dobyns Bennett student hit by car while crossing street near campus

Kingsport police said a Dobyns Bennett High School student was hit by a car Monday afternoon while crossing a roadway near campus.

Preliminary details said the male student was struck by a car driven by a female DB student who was traveling on East Center Street just after 3 p.m.

The male juvenile was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
