Sheriff says shooter threat phone call to Volunteer High came from out of state
Investigators trying to pin down the phony phone caller who made a deadly threat involving Volunteer High School in Church Hill said the call came from out of state.
Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson gave the update as police continue to review the events of last week that caused panic among Volunteer students and parents while triggering a full-out response from law enforcement.
Lawson reiterated that there was never an active shooter on the Volunteer campus and no shots were fired in the school that day.
