Saltville Teen Dead Following Weekend, Single Vehicle Crash

A Saltville teenager is dead after a single vehicle crash in Smyth County, Virginia over the weekend. Virginia State Police say 18 year old James D. Carter died from his injuries when he was traveling in his 1994 Toyota pickup north on Route 91 and crossed the center line after coming through a curve. Carter’s vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a cliff embankment. The vehicle spun back into the roadway. Carter was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. The investigation is being conducted by Virginia State Police.
