Kingsport BOE To Decide On Continued Use Of Masks
According to Tennessee Health Department data, the Northeast Tennessee region has seen COVID-19 cases in children drop from more than five hundred in August to just 55 so far this month. That has some school districts’ contemplating whether to adjust portions of COVID-19 mitigation requirements, such as mandatory wearing of masks while in school. This evening, the Kingsport Board of Education, the region’s largest school system, will vote to end or extend it’s mandatory mask requirement, which has a parental opt out clause. The meeting begins at six this evening at the Administrative Support Center.
