Daylight saving time ending Sunday, Nov. 7
This weekend marks the end of daylight saving time, and the Kingsport Fire Department reminds families to turn their clocks back one hour, and to also use this time to check the batteries in their smoke detectors. Smoke alarms with removable batteries should be checked every six months. While households remember to change the clocks twice a year, they should also take the opportunity to assure all their smoke alarms are functioning correctly. Daylight saving time ends on Sunday morning.
