UPDATE: Federal judge orders Bristol Compressors to pay $1M to former workers
A federal judge has awarded 40 former workers of Bristol Compressors $1.3 million judgment following several years of litigation after the plant shut down.
The decision concluded that the company failed to provide proper notice of the permanent shutdown in 2018 that resulted in 470 workers losing their jobs.
Court records show in proceedings held in July that Bristol Compressors had no attorney present after the previous lawyer left the case.
