SWVA Commonwealth’s Attorney Named Chief Deputy Attorney General
Wise County and the City of Norton Virginia, Commonwealth’s Attorney General, Chuck Slemp is named Chief Deputy Attorney General for Virginia. Slemp who has served as Attorney General in Wise County since 2015 is appointed to the second in command post by newly elected Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares. Slemp, is no stranger to the Virginia Attorney General’s Office in Richmond when served as special assistant and scheduler to Virginia Attorneys General Jerry Kilgore. Slemp will resign his post as Attorney General in Wise County and will be sworn in as Chief Deputy on January 15.
