Virginia Governor Youngkin proclaims February as Black History Month
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin issued a proclamation this week recognizing the month of February as Black History Month. Governor Youngkin mentions Virginians such as Maggie Walker, Gov. Doug Wilder, and Virginia’s new Lt. Governor Winsome Sears, and says they are pioneers, barrier-breakers, and leaders.
Youngkin says he encourages all Virginians to celebrate Black History Month, and the Commonwealth’s rich, diverse history this month. Read more here.
