Father of missing girl Summer Wells sent to jail for DUI
The father of missing Hawkins County girl Summer Wells received jail time in Sessions Court after pleading guilty to DUI.
The official sentence was 11 months and 29 days due in part to his October arrest violating the terms of his probation. However, the judge said the remainder of his sentence will be served as a probationary period if he completes 180 days of jail time.
His court appearance comes three days after Summer’s 6th birthday. The TBI continues to determine the events of what happened prior to the girl’s disappearance in June.
