Region May Be Past Peak Of Omicron Variant, Ballad Still Reports Record Number Of Patients
Ballad Health officials believe the 21 county region in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, served by Ballad Health Care may have passed the peak of the Omicron Variant of COVID19. Despite that bit of bright news, Ballad reports a new record of 454 patients in its facilities on Monday. The positive rate for COVID19 in the Southwest Virginia region is 43 percent. There are six Pediatric patients in Niswonger Children’s Hospital and 68 deaths have been reported in the past week.
