Boil Water Alert Remains In Effect, Repairs Made On Kingsport Waterline Break

Repairs have been made to a major water line break on Fairview Avenue in Kingsport, but a boil water alert for consumption of water remains in effect for those residents. Crews are flushing the lines and collecting samples of water following the break on Wednesday. Water is safe for bathing and showering, and only water for consumption needs to be boiled. Another notification will be sent notifying residents when the boil water alert is lifted. That is expected to take place sometime Thursday evening.
