Greeneville woman arrested for child abuse, public intoxication in grocery store
A Greeneville woman is in jail for child abuse after police say she was found in a grocery store intoxicated and unable to care for her two kids. According to a Greeneville Police report, officers responded to a public intoxication call at the Food City on Asheville Highway.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with 30-year-old Samantha Farley, who was chasing her child through the store, stumbling and unsteady on her feet. Officers had to catch her 2-year-old daughter for her. Samantha Farley was arrested and charged with public intoxication and child abuse & neglect. The Department of Children’s Services was called to determine who would take custody of the children.
