UPDATE: Carter County man headed to prison for attempted second-degree murder

A Carter County, Tennessee man is headed to prison after being found guilty on three charges including attempted second-degree murder based on a case from 2019.

Court records show Claude Harvey Banner will be sentenced on May 19 for his role in the shooting that took place at his home in Butler.

Police said the two men had been drinking that night and Banner was reportedly showing the victim his gun collection when the man was shot in the neck.
