Allegations of mental, verbal abuse place ETSU Softball program under internal review
Another former player of current ETSU Softball coach Belinda Hendrix has come forward with a report of mistreatment following a barrage of allegations about her tenure in Johnson City.
In a post on an ETSU fan Twitter page called The Mutiny, Brooke Rackel said while playing for Hendrix at Chipola College in Florida in 2011 she was locked on a bus in hot temperatures with select teammates as a punishment by Hendrix.
I had the unpleasure of playing for them when I played at Chipola In 2011. Once some of us were locked on the team bus during a doubleheader with no air conditioning in 30+ degree Florida heat as “punishment” So glad these young women today are speaking up and ending the abuse https://t.co/l2SDsIDw63

ETSU Athletic Director Scott Carter issued a statement on social media this week announcing a review of the softball program is taking place after former player Saxon Radcliff came forward and told school officials that Hendrix and her husband Jimmy were mentally and verbally abusive to players. Radcliff said she was dismissed from the squad by Hendrix with no explanation last fall.
