Outside Assistance Help SWVA Firefighters Continue Battle With Nearly Four Thousand Acres Burning
Southwest Virginia fire fighters continue their battle against nearly four thousand acres of brush fires throughout the region. Russell Proctor is with the Virginia Department of Forestry and says outside assistance is helping local fighters come closer to containing the blazes.Proctor says those firefighters from outside the area are back on the ground Friday as they continue fighting fires on nearly 13 hundred acres in Lee County in the Blackwater community.
