A grim reminder of Virginia’s drug abuse epidemic is shown in recent data released by the Department of Health that shows overdose deaths remain at record high levels.
A total of 2,656 people in Virginia died from an overdose last year and one of the biggest contributing factors was the use of fentanyl which accounted for 76 percent of those fatalities.
