UPDATE: Suspected Mendota murderer competent to stand trial
The man accused of killing three women over an 18-day period in 2019 has been deemed competent to stand trial.
James Wright was scheduled to appear before a jury later this month but those proceedings will likely be delayed until later this year in Circuit Court in Washington County, Virginia.
Wright is charged with the murders of Joslyn Alsup, Elizabeth Vanmeter, and Athina Hopson whose bodies were found in the Mendota community.
