Protesters Expected At JCCC Meeting
A large crowd is expected at Thursday’s Johnson City City Commission meeting in protest of the city’s Police Chief concerning a federal lawsuit filed against him and the city. The suit alleges Turner and JCPD investigators refused to fully investigate a downtown business owner accused of rape. The group has listed four demands including the suspension of Police Chief Carl Turner, and formation of a third party investigation into the allegations. The protest group is expected to be at Thursday’s commission meeting that begins at six p.m.
