UPDATE: Elizabethton police identify victim and suspect in Thursday shooting

More details have been released by Elizabethton police on an early afternoon shooting that has left one person dead and led to a first-degree murder charge against a Bluff City man.

Anthony Guy, 32, was found wounded at a home on Oak Street just after 2:30 Thursday. He later died at an area hospital.

Police said an argument between Guy and Ryan Williams, 27, of Bluff City, led up to the shooting. Guy’s sister had been dating Williams at the time. Eyewitnesses told investigators that Guy slapped Williams before the shot.
