Virginia issuing P-EBT funds to eligible K-12 students August 25
The Virginia Department of Social Services says it received federal approval to issue another round of Summer Pandemic-EBT benefits to eligible K-12 students. This food assistance was approved in the midst of ongoing food security challenges in the Commonwealth, and will give eligible students a one-time allowance loaded onto their EBT cards.
Qualifying students include those who attend a school included in the Community Eligibility Provision, or those eligible for free or reduced lunches during the 2021-22 school year. Benefits will be issued in a one-time payment of $391 on August 25th. The funds will be loaded to existing P-EBT or EBT cards. If families do not have an existing P-EBT card, a card will be mailed to the address provided by the school within 7 to 10 days of issuance.
