Ballad Warns Of Tough Respiratory Illness Season In Region
Officials with Ballad Health are warning it could be a long, respiratory illness season ahead for the region. The warnings specifically mention Influenza, COVID-19 and RSV. Flu numbers are rising rapidly and its early in the flu season. RSV cases are also rising and COVID-19 numbers have remained steady. The RSV illness can be especially rough on young children. Hospital officials say they are seeing an increase in admissions for children and the stay is longer as well. Ballad says there is a good chance to see COVID-19, RSV and Flu throughout the duration of the season and surge plans have been drawn up, but none are yet in place.
