Icy roads possible cause of fatal Tazewell County crash

Virginia State Police says a fatal crash that happened Thursday morning in Tazewell County may have been due to icy road conditions. According to a report, the crash happened at around 6:40 at the intersection of U.S. 460 and Route 1401.

A pickup truck reportedly collided with an SUV at the intersection. The driver of the truck exited their vehicle, when a third vehicle struck the pickup and its driver. VSP says there is one confirmed fatality, but does not specify who, as the crash remains under investigation.
