Kingsport reopens ‘The Barking Lot’ dog park, free to the public
The City of Kingsport has reopened its dog park, the Barking Lot, as of Friday. The city says it purchased the property from the Downtown Kingsport Association, and the park will now fall under the umbrella of the parks and recreation department.
The Barking Lot dog park is located on Cherokee Street and features an off-leash, fenced in experience for dogs and pet owners. The space includes benches, dog waste stations, and water fountains for pets and people. The dog park doesn’t have a membership requirement, but all dogs must have a collar with current ID and rabies tags.
