UPDATE: Former officer soliciting child sex on the dark web sent to prison

A former Sullivan County corrections officer has been convicted after prosecutors said he traveled to North Carolina last July to have sex with a toddler.

John Biggins told federal authorities he used the dark web to search for children for sex and communicated with an undercover agent who was posing as the child’s mother.

Biggins, 42, of Surgoinsville, TN, will serve 17 years in prison.
