UPDATE: Kingsport chase suspect died from self-inflicted gunshot

A new report about a Friday pursuit that took place on highways in Kingsport and Scott County says the driver shot herself after an officer used his police cruiser to stop the chase.

That Kingsport report said 36-year-old Mary Bombailey was dead in the car when officers approached.

Bombailey was being pursued after a report of her SUV striking a pedestrian on Harrison Avenue and shooting at the victim.
