New GA sessions begin in VA and TN
A new Virginia General Assembly convenes its 2024 session Wednesday with a new Democratic majority in control of both chambers after a consequential election cycle that followed two years of divided control at the Capitol. Guns, gambling, abortion, and public safety are some of the issues on the agenda. Tennessee lawmakers returned to session Tuesday with Republican Gov. Bill Lee’s voucher expansion program being just one of many proposals topping the new legislative session agenda.
