Bristol Compressors International, LLC ordered to pay former employees more
Bristol Compressors International, LLC must pay former employees about $1 million more than previously ordered, a judge ruled earlier this month, in the case of 128 people whose workers’ rights were violated when the facility shut down in 2018. In 2021, a judge ordered Bristol Compressors to pay the former employees nearly $1.4 million for violating the WARN Act. A judge found at that time the company had not provided sufficient notice to the affected workers when it ceased operations in Bristol, Va. Earlier this month, after additional exhibits were introduced, the judge issued the new order in place of his 2021 order.
