The “Safer 26 in ’24” initiative launched after a series of deadly crashes, including the death of a child. According to the new information, the initiative is working. The data shows a 37-percent drop compared to this time last year. From January 26 to February 25, 2023, there were 41 crashes. This year, only 26 accidents. Police have pulled over nearly five times as many drivers compared to this time last year. Speeding, following too closely, and distracted driving are the biggest infractions.
