Charlotte driver charged with homicide after deadly Route 23 crash

A Charlotte, North Carolina driver that operated an SUV recklessly on Route 23 in Wise County while running from police has been charged with felony homicide.

Dimitri Jontae Greene pulled his vehicle into oncoming southbound traffic while pursued by Virginia officers and crashed head-on into a compact car in the town of Wise killing the driver.

Charges are pending in Kentucky for Greene and the two passengers in his vehicle. The trio were being chased in Kentucky and that chase was then terminated at the Virginia state line.

The names of the victims have not been released as of Friday afternoon.
