Early Sunday morning fire in downtown JC

An early-morning commercial fire in downtown Johnson City Sunday resulted in no injuries but left a building torn down. According to the Johnson City Fire Department, the full-alarm fire was reported at 5:45 a.m. Sunday near the 800 block of East Walnut Street. Crews searched the structure and found no one inside. They were still there around 10:30 a.m. to ensure the fire was out while tearing down the remaining portions of the building. The fire is under investigation.
