Body discovered in Greeneville

The Greeneville Police Department say a body was discovered in a culvert on Saturday morning. Officers reportedly discovered a decomposing body at the 1700 block of Moore Avenue. The body is believed to have been in the culvert for about a week. The body was sent to William L. Jenkins Forensic Center in Johnson City, TN, for identification and an autopsy. An investigation is underway and officials said the cause of death will not be determined until the autopsy is performed.
