TN and VA Tax Free weekends for back to school approaching

With the start of another school year coming up in the Tri Cities, many parents are starting to budget for back to school shopping. That means planning to shop during the sales tax holidays in Virginia and Tennessee. During those weekends, sales tax is suspended on certain back to school supplies, computers and clothing items. Tennessee’s weekend is July 26th thru the 28th. Virginia will suspend taxes on back to school items August 2nd thru the 4th.
