Local lawmakers ask for prayers for Trump
The response from state and federal lawmakers from our region was one of shock and prayerfulness after former President Donald Trump was rushed off a Pennsylvania stage by Secret Service agents.
The Tennessee contingent asked for prayer for Trump, including Kingsport U.S. Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger who complimented the security details but still had questions as to how Matthew Crooks was able to mount a rooftop 500 feet from the Commander and Chief with a rifle and attempt to assassinate him.
There is no place for political violence in a democracy. I’m monitoring this terrible situation and praying for all those at the Pennsylvania rally.

We need a full investigation into how the Secret Service allowed a near assassination of President Trump to occur.
