BMS makes it official: Speedway to host MLB game August 2nd
Bristol Motor Speedway and Major League Baseball officially announced on Friday that the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds will play at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2025. The game will be August 2. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Speedway Motorsports President Marcus Smith, and MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred joined BMS President and General Manager Jerry Caldwell for the announcement. The game will be the second professional sporting event outside of racing held at the track. The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles played a preseason NFL game at BMS in 1961. In 2016, the Tennessee Vols and Virginia Tech Hokies played at Bristol Motor Speedway, and that event set a record for the largest crowd at an NCAA football game at 156,990.
