Asheville shutting down streets to prep for Trump rally
Some streets in neighboring Asheville are being shut down a day early to prepare for former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center on Wednesday afternoon.
A statement from city police said they’ve been planning with local, state, and federal agencies for the former president’s visit that will impact airport and Interstate 26 traffic.
The statement also said Asheville police will allow the display of free speech and keep crowds in and around the arena protected.
